This project’s aim was to explore the natural, aesthetic, scientific, and cultural values of our local nature reserves. Canberra Nature Park is unique as it is a planned integrated system of nature reserves around and within Canberra. It’s comprised of a network of over 30 bushland and urban reserves containing wetlands, ridges, river corridors and forests.
Each artist in the group show explored how these areas are used and what is contained within. The project presented a series of viewpoints by each artist as an experience of place; with highly individualised responses to the theme.
My response was to combine interests in Japanese elements juxtaposed with place forming suggested narrative
